Private Sector Partnerships to Advance Coral Reef Restoration in Bali

In August 2026, Coral Triangle Center (CTC) and PT Central Financial X (PT CFX) turned a corporate commitment into tangible coral reef restoration at Mangrove Point, Nusa Lembongan.
Through CFX’s Adopt-A-Coral CSR program, four Reef Star units were adopted and transplanted. Installed alongside two units from individual participants during the August 3 field activity, all six structures expanded the site’s restoration footprint.

The CTC team paired the new installations with condition assessments of corals from earlier restoration cycles. Combining transplantation and monitoring in a single trip maximized boat and logistical resources while bringing the site’s overall schedule back on track.
The program also established a routine two-monthly monitoring cycle for the restoration site, consistently tracking the condition of transplanted corals. By collaborating closely with a local guide and the Nusa Lembongan community group, site access and ongoing stewardship remain deeply anchored in the local community.
The partnership was formally marked on August 19, 2026, at CTC’s Center for Marine Conservation in Sanur. Attended by representatives from PT Central Financial X and partner organizations, the event featured a symbolic certificate handover and an Exhibition Hall tour.

The partnership combined corporate social responsibility with community-led ocean stewardship, ensuring sustainable, monitored growth for vital marine ecosystems.
