RTTL.EP – Marine Biodiversity is Important for The Economy and Food Security

Coral Triangle Center (CTC) team, together with Roman Luan, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry (MALFF) of Timor-Leste, and the Head of Vila Maumeta Village, shared the results of the 2025 Reef Health Monitoring survey, as well as the zoning and regulations for the Vila Maumeta Zone. This initiative is part of the effort to reactivate the Vila–Maumeta Zone as a marine conservation area, aimed at supporting the livelihoods of fishers and coastal communities through sustainable fishing practices while protecting coral reefs as vital habitats for fish and marine biodiversity
