Tanjung Samuh in Nusa Penida was an important spot for us that day that we encountered along our monitoring transect, the biggest fish of the ocean! Yes, whaleshark (Rhincodon typus). On that day, we were conducting a reef health monitoring training which was conducted from September 17 – 24, 2012.

By seeing the whaleshark in Nusa Penida, we are sure that Nusa Penida is an important place to charismatic marine species. This place is a very well-known location for the sunfish (Mola mola) and manta ray (Manta birostris).” Andreas Muljadi, Conservation Coordinator
